Sample contains an unidentified chemical.
Sold as: Fentanyl
Expected to be: Fentanyl
Has Been Tried: Yes
Lab comments:
Oct 11 2023: The unidentified substance produces two similar double peaks (pictured, left). The closest library match is Etodesnitazene (also pictured, side by side and alone), but it's not a match to mass spectrum or retention time.

The unidentified substance has an MS peak at 365m/z, which doesn't match Etodesnitazene. See further notes on identification, below.
Sugars / Diluents Detected
The lab identified sugars or diluents in this sample: Mannitol

Purple powder in paper bag in baggie.
Dec 1 2023: Multiple chemists have suggested that the unidentified substance shares similarities with 5-methyl-Etodesnitazene/6-methyl-Etodesnitazene but is not a perfect match. It could be a novel -nitazene, with the IUPAC name N,N-Diethyl(2-{2-[2-(p-ethoxyphenyl)ethyl]-1H-1,3-benzimidazol-1-yl}ethyl)amine . The lab is still working on this identification. Unidentifed Substances
This sample contains an unidentified chemical. We do not have a matching substance in our lab's internal database and have not yet been able to identify the chemical(s).

We need the help of outside expert analytical chemists and drug geeks to determine what substance matches the mass spectrum (MS) fingerprint. The lab's GC/MS graphs can be viewed by clicking on the thumbnails on this page.
